As the story of the Winchester Mystery House goes, it was under constant construction for decades with a sprawling and labyrinthine layout. This was to confuse the spirits killed by the gun that built the Winchester fortune. Grand architecture is a tool to launder one’s image and protect oneself physically from the consequences of exploitative practices.
